Boston OVERVIEW

Boston - a city where a tea party ends up in a war of independence, and being a student is more than an honor. Called the Cradle of Liberty and the Athens of America, Boston certainly doesn't fall short of expectations, and although two centuries have passed since the Massachusetts colonists threw the whole British load of taxed tea into the harbor, the city remains infused with the spirit of history and ardent support of personal freedom. Once a firebrand of cultural revolution, today's Boston retains its open-mindedness and does not dodge hot issues. Its higher institutions of learning, Harvard and MIT, are premier in the country and blaze trails across the frontiers of world's collective achievement in numerous fields. Nevertheless, Boston is far from appearing as a stiff and proper city where history buffs and science freaks shake hands. Above all, it's a place to enjoy life in every aspect, from sport and relaxation in the open air to splendid shopping and bristling entertainment.
