If you've been holding out on your winter sport desires, relax. All of them will be met when you take ski vacations in Colorado. The breathtaking landscape is awe inspiring. Be it skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or cross country, all of it is here on offer at the Colorado skiing resorts in the beautiful Rocky Mountains just west and south of Denver.

Many great deals are available for lodging, ski lifts, and flights in these resorts, which promise great value for money, through many different travel agencies. Most of these packages are all inclusive which saves a lot of money and ensures that you have a well planned vacation. You will get much better rates by booking lodging and lift tickets for the early season lasting from November to mid-December and the spring skiing season which beings in late March at skiing resorts in Colorado.

Colorado has five major ski destinations. All of these are easily accessible through Denver.
Vail / Beaver Creek is about an hour's flight from Denver and it would take 1.5 to 2 hours to reach it by road. This classic village resort is being completely reconstructed and remodeled from scratch. At Beaver Creek you can easily whisk up a Larkspur Bowl in just 6 minutes on the new high speed quad.

Copper Mountain / Keystone which is a 1.5 hours drive from Denver is a very customer oriented resort. The addition of new luxuries to their already extensive array of services regularly attracts tourists. Snow-cat tours, expanded terrain parks and assorted non-skiing adventures are some of the features at this resort.

One of the best Colorado skiing resorts is Aspen. At a distance of three hours by road from Denver, Aspen is known for its celebrity style resorts. The snow mass is building it into a whole new village. The Elk Camp Meadows can be visited by a special gondola service.

With the highest lift in North America (12840 ft), Breckenridge which lies at a 1.5 hour drive from Denver has new imperial express chair accesses to 400 acres of expert terrain at the top of Peak 8. Or you might want to fly an hour from Denver to Telluride.

At Telluride you get guided ski tours to Mountain Quail. This hike to inbounds area above the Prospect Bowl Lift is an exciting and educating experience; you will receive safety briefings, shovels, and avalanche beacons and instructions to use them all.

If you want fun filled days of playing in the snow or prefer a cozy stay at lodge snuggled up to your special someone by the fire, ski resorts in Colorado never disappoint. The resorts offer a plethora of activities besides skiing. You can relax and enjoy your evenings. Ski vacations in Colorado are all about serving you and making your stay as comfortable as their hospitality permits.
