A bit surreal, Salvatore Dali's kind of landscape of towering red sandstone rock formations is an amazing feature of the Garden of the Gods in the neighboring Colorado Springs. Surely, with the 300 million years old rock structures soaring to the sky, this breathtaking site needs a moniker. The name was coined by two surveyors, Beach and Cable, who thought the place was a perfect spot for a beer garden and / or deities to assemble. As a result it became The Garden of the Gods which is, indisputably, an appropriate name to call a place of such outstanding beauty. With its wide variety of flora and fauna, the Garden draws enormous numbers of those who are thirsty for magnificent vistas and vast natural surroundings. The contrasting lush greenery of the park's willows, scrub oak and juniper against the brilliant red of the towering rocks and the blue of the sky above is truly awe-inspiring. Come for perfect hiking, climbing or horse riding attractions!
