Disneyland Paris is one of the premier theme parks of Europe. Over the years, it has become one of the most happening places, for kids as well as adults, in all of Europe. This recreational resort is located in the eastern suburbs of Paris, in the new town called Marne-la-Vallee. It is only a 32 kilometer drive from the centre of Paris.
Disneyland Paris comprises two theme parks, retail, a dining and an entertainment district, and seven Disney Paris hotels. The most significant difference amongst all the Disney attractions is that, only Disneyland Paris has a Disneyland hotel at the entrance, with a grand view of the whole theme park. The four most popular Disney Paris hotels are as follows:
Disneyland Hotel: Disneyland Hotel is marketed as the most prestigious and most costly hotel of all the Disney Paris Hotels. With its clapboards and trim style, painted in cream and pink, and its octagonal Mansard roofs with dormera, it gives a feeling of a castle of the Victorian era. This hotel is located at the entrance of the park, and houses the most expensive rooms and suites. Its main attractions are the Mickey Mouse clock tower, wraparound porches and gold leaf finish.
Disney's Hotel New York: this hotel of Disneyland Paris was designed by postmodern architect Michael Graves. The 20th century art deco design of this hotel echoes the essence and feel of New York City. The exterior looks like a stylish skyscraper. The Manhattan Restaurant displays an image of Manhattan's Cotton Club. The main attraction of this hotel is the Rockefeller Plaza, influenced by Rockefeller Centre, which provides a skating rink in winter, and in summer, a fountain, featuring the map of Manhattan.
Disney's Newport Bay Club: this hotel was designed according to the archetypal New England architecture, with porches, white clapboard, woodwork and nautical memorabilia. The name is influenced by the town of Newport, Rhode Island. The hotel stands along the shoreline of the Lake Disney, and has a small lighthouse. The restaurants of this hotel are great places for sea food lovers. It is the largest property of all the Disney hotels in Paris.
Disney's Davy Crocket Ranch: this is mainly a campground, located outside the main resort area. A very quiet wooded area surrounds the ranch. The ranch is a merely 15 minute drive from the theme park. Each cabin includes a double bed, a set of bunk beds and in the lounge area, even a convertible sofa bed. The cabins have facilities like TV with all the international channels, attached bathroom, telephone, self catering facility, along with a personal kitchen and a refrigerator. The cabins are divided over trails, such as coyote trail, bigbear trail, bobcat trail etc. The village includes boutiques, restaurants, swimming pool, bar, tennis court, a video arcade, jogging track and many more facilities.
Other than these four major Disney Paris hotels, there are Disney's Sequoia Lodge, Disney Hotel Cheyenne and Disney's Hotel Santa Fe.
There are of course many more hotels, which provide a good package tour, good food and accommodation, and help in making the trip to Disneyland, a relaxing and joyful experience.
