Flights from Pune to Delhi

Around 11,500 seats are available every day on flights from Pune to Delhi, making it one of the most popular connections in India. Pune constitutes an important transportation hub for the state of Maharashtra, of which it is considered the cultural capital. The city's student community contributes to Pune's reputation as a bustling spot with vibrant nightlife and youthful spirit hovering in the air, which makes for rapidly increasing visitor numbers. Unfortunately, Pune does not have a civil airport to handle all too many commercial flights, and all carriers are currently forced to operate from the Air Force base at Lohegaon. The airport is located around 10 kilometers from the center of Pune and takes 45 minutes on average to get to. Though a military airbase, the airport advisory committee sees the need to focus on the constant improvement of the existing facilities on a par with internationally recognized standards. A confirmed piece of information is that there are plans to set up two duty-free shops on the airport premises, and international passengers flying in and out of Pune will soon have the opportunity to buy high-end perfumes, confectionery and liquor at bargain rates. All flights to Delhi departing from Pune Lohegaon arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport, by far the busiest airport in South Asia as far as passenger volumes and traffic movement are concerned.
The following airlines operate flights from Pune to Delhi:
Kingfisher - one of only six airlines in the world to have received a five-star rating from Skytrax

Keep abreast with the operators' websites, though, or contact the airport's information center if you're about to take a last-minute flight as schedules might occasionally be changed. If a direct flight proves difficult to get (though it is a big if), a good option is to take a connection flight to Mumbai and then travel to Pune by train or taxi, which will cost you around US$ 35 and should not take more than 3 hours. Price-wise, flights from Pune to Delhi oscillate between US$ 200 and US$ 400 (with the whole range of seasonal discounts to always worth looking for in advance), Jet Airways radically standing out with over US$550 per ticket.
