Weimar OVERVIEW

A hatchery of genius minds, Weimar, is where you get at the very heart of German culture and creative spirits. It was here where Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, Friedrich Schiller, Wassily Kandinsky, and Friedrich Nietzsche lived and produced their masterpieces. It is also here where the groundbreaking Bauhaus thrived opening new ways into literature, art and philosophy. But apparently, it is not only brilliance that blooms here. Weimar is a city of parks and numerous historical gardens, many of them with a UNESCO World Heritage status, which make a Weimar postcard a stunning color mosaic. When in town, make sure you see the magnificent Town Castle, the superb summer residence in Belvedere and the Tiefurt Palace. And speaking of gardens and flowers, there's a Bee Museum, too! Buzzing!
