Dear Open Travelers! It's been a fruitful year in travel, bearing a number of fabulous images taken as you were wandering the planet. Here are ones we think could qualify even to the National Geographic contest, which we heartily encourage you to consider next year. No prizes, just honorable mentions, but we do believe it's the greatest gift of all to be able to capture the moment with such endearing sensitivity. Travel safe and never give up your hunt for inspiring images.

I knew in person the beach in the photo with the guy with a surfing board, that is Sosua, Puerto Plata.
I particularly like phot 3, the elephants. Very nice.
