Hello OT memebrs,

I'm going to Scotland in May. I'll fly to Glasgow and then travel to Inverness. I will have 5 days to travel around this beautiful region.

1 question: What's the best way to go from Glasgow (Prestwik airport) to Inverness. Bus, train, renting a car? It will be two of us.

2 question: what is worthing seeing? I would love to visit Isle of Skye. What else would you recommend?

3: Is one day enough for Skye, or should I stay overnight?

Thank you for help :)

1.As far as the journey goes, you can always take a plane, but that's not going to be budget friendly at all. The cheapest way to get to Inverness, in less than 4 hours, is by catching the Megabus (Scottish Citylink) buses or National Express coaches.

2.Definitely Glen Coe if you're into hiking; Oban if you like cozy little harbor towns

3.Overnight!!! I would die to see the sun rise over the Skye.

Glencoe looks fabulous. Do you need to be an advanced hiker to go trekking in the mountains?

Do you know some cheap&good hostels on Skye?

Thank you so much for help :)

While in Scotland, you could go to Staffa Island to see these incredible basalt columns - http://opentravel.com/blogs/most-extreme-landscapes-on-earth/
