Hello, hello travelers.

I'll be soon graduate, and I'm planning to take one year off before I start loooking for some serious job. I'm only 21 so I still have some time to travel and have fun.

I would love to spend a year in Australia or New Zealand, and improve my english.

I cannot decide where I should go. I guess I can get working holiday visa to both of these countries.

I love water sports, kayaking, windsurfing and swimming so I guess both countries are great.

Then, I'm not such a big fun of big metropolis, so I think Sydney is a bit "too much" for me.

I would also love to find some part time job in some restaurant or a hostel.

What do you think?

G'day mate :)

If I were you, I would go to Australia. You don't need to stay in Sydney, you can go to Melbourne or Cairns, which are more relaxed and also have great beaches around. Surfing is great in Australia, I didn't try it in New Zeland, though. It is easier to find job in Australia, in some hostels and bars you shouldn't have problems during summer months. You can always go for a month or two to NZ, while staying in Au. One year in NZ could be a bit too long. Too boring, though beautiful. Have fun

Yeah, It depends on a type of person you are. If you prefer remote, more relaxed and quiet surroundings, head for New Zealand. Australia is packed with backpackers and gap year people.
