Why do people dislike American tourists???

I’ve been wondering what’s wrong with American tourists and why everyone hates them so much. I’ve been travelling for couple of years now, and wherever I go I here Americans are rude, loud and obnoxious. I personally met a few nice, friendly Americans and I don’t think they are any worse than the Brits or the French. What do you think?

Hi,
I've been working with some Americans for some time and I've never had any bad feelings about them. They're friendly and very communicative. Of course there are exceptions ;) but I would not generalize too fast.

They might be friendly, but what I strongly dislike about American tourists is that wherever they go they try to convince the whole world that the USA is the best country on the globe.

Yep, they are generally (not all) pretentious, spoiled, and arrogant.

I'm American, and I cant tell you how many times a complaining american tourist has offended me and the locals I was with.

tsk, tsk

There are many good ones, but it only takes a few.
