If you are looking for a decent downtown Bangkok hotel, Grace Hotel is one of the best options. Whatever the purpose of your visit, once you have chosen Bangkok as your destination and decided how you are going to get there, the most important thing you need to do is book a hotel.
Bangkok is the kind of place where you could spend your whole day doing fun and exciting things. So, when the day is over and you are feeling tired, you would like to come back to a place that is both comfortable and peaceful.
Grace Hotel, situated in Soi Nana Nua on Sukhumyit Road, is just that kind of a place. Located centrally in a prime business district, it is very well connected and is also near various entertainment and shopping centers. Sukhumyit road is also quite famous for the nightlife it offers. It has several restaurants, serving traditional Thai food as well as other Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
The Grace Hotel itself is a venue for many fun activities. The hotel hosts an Arabian Cabaret, with nice food and light music to accompany the nighttime cabaret dancing. If you prefer techno music, there is a discotheque too.
The hotel also has a bowling alley, snooker tables and a swimming pool. The restaurant in here serves Thai as well as international cuisine. To help you relax, this downtown Bangkok hotel has a massage parlor, a gift shop, a beauty salon and a coffee shop.
The hotel's official website doesn't mention the room tariffs, though it gives telephone numbers for you to call and find out. However, you can't make reservations over the phone. The only options for that are fax or email. Usually, the room rates here start from 1000 Baht (31 USD) for a standard room. A room with decent facilities should cost around 400 Baht (USD 43). The Grace Hotel is known to have a pretty good travel service for booking excursions.
Travel sites have given the Grace Hotel Bangkok a mixed bag of reviews. However, what's been seen is that whether someone has liked it or not has depended on their personal preference. While someone has loved a certain feature or facility of the hotel, another one has shown a strong dislike to exactly the same thing.
A lot of guests who have stayed here have rated it highly for its cleanliness, safety and facilities. Many people have made the point that this downtown Bangkok hotel is a place better suited for businesspeople and individuals than for families with kids. The one almost unanimous opinion is that the staff in the hotel is quite reserved.
