Try Niagara Falls vacations for a unique two-country destination. Whether visiting the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls of Niagara Falls, New York, or crossing the Canadian border and viewing Horseshoe Falls in Ontario, there is more than enough natural beauty and attractions to make lifetime memories.

Located just 17 miles from Buffalo, New York, is Niagara Falls State Park, which features several ways to view the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Prospect Point Park has several walkways which allow guests to view the Falls, as well as an observation tower. "Maid of the Mist", which takes passengers into the rapids underneath the Falls, has a dock in the park (as well as on the Canadian side).

Goat Island, which can be reached by both pedestrian and automobile traffic, offers views of the Falls. Visitors can take the elevator at Cave of the Winds and hike beneath Bridal Veil Falls. There is also a walking path that allows visitors to view the rapids, the gorge, the Niagara River, and the Falls. For a guided journey of the American Falls and Goat Island, consider the Niagara Scenic Trolley. For a ‘bird's eye' view of the Falls, try out a helicopter ride. To learn more about the history of the Falls and Gorge, look no further than the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center.

No Niagara Falls vacation would be complete without a trip across the border into Ontario. Three bridges connect Niagara Falls, New York with Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Rainbow Bridge affords visitors the greatest view of the Falls. The Whirlpool Rapids Bridge is the oldest bridge, while the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is the newest. No matter which bridge you choose, more adventures await you on the other side.

Niagara Falls, Ontario (which is just 75 miles from Toronto), is home to Horseshoe Falls. The spectacular waterfall features an amazing 175 foot drop to the bottom, which is almost twice as high as the American Falls. At night, colored floodlights illuminate the Falls, creating something so beautiful it has to be seen to be believed.

There are several different ways to view and enjoy the Falls while in Canada. Visitors to Queen Victoria Park can utilize platforms to view both the American and Horseshoe Falls. Underground walkways, complete with observation rooms, give the feeling of being under the falling water. Skylon Tower features a great view of the Falls, and on a clear day, Toronto. A cable car will take you over the Whirlpool, or you can try the "Journey Behind the Falls" (an observation platform near the bottom of Horseshoe Falls).

Just steps away from the Falls are the many restaurants, hotels, and family-friendly attractions located in the Fallsview Tourist Area and Clifton Hill. There are four wax museums: Louis Tussaud's Waxworks, Movieland Wax Museum of the Stars, Criminals Hall of Fame Wax Museum, and Rock Legends Wax Museum. The area also has three mini-golf courses, five haunted houses, three arcades, and numerous shopping opportunities.

There are so many things to do in the Niagara Falls area, you might have to stay longer than you planned just to take it all in. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy at Niagara Falls; it isn't just for newlyweds and daredevils anymore. Niagara Falls vacations is a great choice for virtually everyone.
