Visit the aquarium , Coca Cola Museum.
I would say always start with down town,, you'll get invites to club parties there & there's lots of sights to see. And you should visit atlantic station as well.
You can visit the CNN center, where CNN News broadcasts from. The Georgia Aquarium is cool. Olympic park, where much of the 1996 Olympics were held, Underground Atlanta, or catch a Braves game, the baseball team, if they are in town, at Turner Field. There is an area called Buckhead, that is really cool to party at. These areas are in or around downtown Atlanta. There is a nice big family park east of Atlanta, called Stone Mountain. They have all kinds of rides, places to eat, stores to shop, and a laser show at night, which they show on the face of the mountain.
It's big and animated for sure...
Your first choice should be stone mountain park. It is an all day place featuring the carving of the confederate generals that is larger than the carving on mount rushmore. There you will find museaums, hotels, the largest park railroad, river boat, skylift, hiking, and the lazer show at nite could be the highlite of your trip. Visit their website...its a must. Then there is the cyclorama in grant park in downtown atlanta..it is the 3d effect 100yards long painting of the battle of atlanta..it is located next to the atl zoo. Then there is the coke museaum downtown..it should also be considered a must and is located next to the wonderful Ga aquarium.
One of the best place I've been too is ZOO ATLANTA. highly recommend it
