I would defenitly add the Opera Garnier in the top 3, the inside of this building is amazing. For a few Euros, you get to see one of the most beauitiful Parisian building open to the public.

I took a great instructional photo tour of Paris, with photographer Sophie Pasquet. It was a different, and non-touristic, way of seeing the sites while learning some photo techniques and getting some good shots.
If you plan on visiting the Eiffel Tower then I highly recommend booking ahead or you'll face an extremely long queue. Also, be prepared to queue for the lift up to each level and then the same on the way back down.
Another good place to stop off for a look is the Shakespeare and Company book shop which is just across the bridge from Notre Dame. It looks tiny from the outside but holds more books than you could ever imagine, as well as one or two other surprises around it's corners.

Depending on the time of year, fat tire bike tour. I usually do the night bike tour -- they meet at 7pm at the "sud" end of the eiffel tour, but the tour last several hours so maybe the daytime tour would be more age appropriate for the teenagers, which meets at the same place at 11 am.
I am devastated. I've just (today) visited the Musee D'Orsay to see Van Gogh and the other Impressionists, the best collection in the world. The Musee has recently rearranged things and has, in my view, made a complete hash of it. Most of the Impressionists are on the 5th floor, Van Gogh and Gauguin (
) are on the second, with a few odd paintings in next door. The space is too small for the crowds so it's very difficult to get a proper look. The walls are dark grey, there's no external windows and the paintings are illuminated only by YELLOW light from above. Appalling. It's still the best collection, but be aware that the display ain't what it was.

Simple way to avoid q at eifal tower...arrive early. Also, remember there is more than one entrance.....sometimes 1 is shorter
